About the Role
We are hiring a Director of Operations Technology & Automation, reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer, to own the automation, technology, and AI integration into our customer facing teams. This is a pivotal role to chart the automation and AI integration course of a rapidly scaling $100 million+ marketplace, focused on improving quality of our customer experience, while directly driving revenue and increasing efficiency within our 1,000+ customer-facing agent population.
This role will own the roadmap on which automation and AI integration to prioritize, having autonomy to choose third parties, prioritize experiments, and leveraging our dedicated Operations engineers. Success is measured in incremental revenue, cost-to-serve, improved customer experience, and faster response and handle times - not in features shipped.
What You ll Own
Roadmap & Prioritization
• Build and maintain a rolling 12-month roadmap for Operations tooling, automation, and AI features, prioritized by risk-adjusted ROI - working closely with our fast-paced engineering team (including dedicated Ops engineers), as well as the broader Operations Org, and Strategy team.
Specs & Delivery
• Write the product specs: problem statement, current state, target state, user flows, requirements, edge cases, success metrics, and rollout plan.
• Act as the owner for each initiative end-to-end - from discovery through launch, adoption, and measurement - within a rigorous fast-paced AB testing environment.
AI Integration and Tooling
• Be the leader integrating AI into the company, including making the buy vs. build decisions, and managing relationships and pilots with key vendors.
• Leverage the relationships with Hubspot, Aircall, and smaller third parties to evaluate and integrate AI solutions - or decide to build in-house with our engineering team.
• Translate operational pain points and revenue opportunities into a prioritized backlog for tooling improvements with clear hypotheses and success metrics.
Measurement & Operating Rhythm
• Weekly reporting on KPIs - which you will define based on specific project focus areas, e.g., sales automation might prioritize conversion rate on leads or touch to connect ratio, care AI integration would show costs saved / improved handling time / increased customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a tight feedback loop with frontline reps and managers - shadow shifts, sit in on calls, ship, iterate.
• Roadmap review every six months (frequent enough to adjust course, not so frequent that all we re doing is roadmapping - we re a growth phase company, nobody cares about slides).
What You ll Bring
• 7+ years in product management, operations strategy, business systems, or RevOps roles, with at least 3 years owning a roadmap end-to-end.
• Track record of shipping automation and AI/ML features that produced measurable productivity, conversion, or customer satisfaction gains. Be ready to talk numbers.
• Direct experience building or owning internal tools for customer care, support, or sales - not just consuming them.
• Strong product craft: you can write a crisp PRD, run a discovery interview, prioritize ruthlessly, and partner well with engineers.
• Fluency with the modern stack: CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent), helpdesk (Zendesk, Intercom, Kustomer, or equivalent), telephony, conversation intel...
