About This Role

Job Family: Technology Consulting Travel Required: Up to 50% Clearance Required: None What You Will Do: Guidehouse is seeking an experienced Cloud Solution Architect to support and advise healthcare clients in design and implementation of secure, scalable solutions across Microsoft Azure and AWS. This role requires expertise in healthcare regulatory compliance, cloud governance, and modernization initiatives, with the ability to lead architecture efforts that align technical solutions to clinical and operational objectives. Key Responsibilities: Technical Architecture Advisory • Design and deploy secure, scalable Azure and AWS solutions for healthcare applications and data workloads • Translate healthcare business and technical requirements into cloud architectures across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, HITECH, and related healthcare regulations • Define and implement cloud governance, identity, encryption, and security monitoring aligned to Zero Trust principles • Architect secure integrations for EHRs, HIEs, and interoperability solutions using HL7 and FHIR standards • Lead cloud migration, modernization, high availability, and disaster recovery designs aligned to RTO/RPO objectives • Develop infrastructure as code using ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation • Optimize cloud environments for performance and cost efficiency using FinOps practices • Produce architecture documentation and mentor technical teams on cloud best practices Client and Advisory Leadership • Serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare client executives, leading cloud architecture decisions and aligning solutions to clinical, operational, and regulatory priorities • Lead and mentor team members, providing technical direction, quality oversight, and career development support • Partner with Directors and Partners to support proposal development, solution shaping, and client presentations for cloud and digital transformation efforts Core Competencies • Strategic problem-solving • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to work independently and lead multiple architecture initiatives • Leadership and team development • Adaptability in fast-paced consulting environments What You Will Need: Education • Bachelor s degree required (Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred) Experience • 5+ years of experience architecting Azure and/or AWS solutions in a healthcare environment • Experience designing secure, compliant cloud architectures for sensitive healthcare data • Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments • Experience in a consulting, advisory, or client-facing role, ideally engaging directly with executive and senior-level stakeholders Technical Skills • Proficiency in Azure services including VMs, Entra ID, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, AKS, Networking, Monitor, and Key Vault • Proficiency in AWS services including EC2, IAM, RDS, S3, EKS, VPC, Load Balancing, CloudWatch, KMS, and Route 53 • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and interoperability standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, HL7, FHIR) • Experience with automation and IaC tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or CloudFormation Travel Requirements • Travel up to 50% based on client and project needs What Would Be Nice To Have: • Azure Solutions Architect Expert and/or AWS Solutions Architect - Professional certification • Experience supporting major EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health) • Experience with healthcare compliance assessments or security audits The annual salary range for this position is $135,000.00-$225,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
