Job Description: The Pre-Sales Software Planner partners internally with Sales, Service and Project Management teams and engages with Varian's customers in a pre-sales capacity to establish customer requirements and expectations, ensure project and quote readiness, develop detailed project-specific deliverables detailing requirements, roles and responsibilities and implementation options and high-level timelines. The Role/Attributes: The Pre-Sales Solution Architect will independently partner with Sales, Service, and SW Upgrades teams to engage with customers in a pre-sales planning capacity in developing detailed SW Introductory Implementation Plan (IIP) proposals and establish the project and quote readiness. Customer partners include both clinical oncology service line managers as well as Hospital IT teams. Attributes for Pre-Sales Software Solution Architect to include: • Ability to address complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. • Solid understanding of Varian products portfolio and software offering/price book and navigation within quoting/sales process Salesforce (Unity) tool. • Completes routine planning requests independently, with minimal oversight, following software planning processes and utilizing necessary tools and planning templates. • Proficient in System Topology diagrams with Visio to visually present a customer s technical environment as part of IIP deliverables. • Proficient in implementing cloud solutions and virtualized server platforms. • Proficient and routinely working with internal teams in an assigned regional geography serving as a technology resource to develop complex Implementation Plans. • Host and lead infrastructure-related discussions expanding to all clinical & IT levels, including the CIO & hospital executives. • Develop trust with clients in pre-project capacity, demonstrated through consistent delivery of high-quality outcomes and setting proper expectations. • Performs Quote QA independently with detailed analysis of customer expectations and follow-up with the Sales team. • May work with Luminary, Strategic, Complex, or other high-visibility customers and projects. What Is Needed to Succeed: • The successful Pre-Sales Software Solution Architect will partner with our Sales teams to represent Varian s ability to implement software solutions that deliver high client satisfaction and minimize clinical downtime to the customer. • The ideal candidate understands best practices working through both internal and external stakeholders around the hand-off of documentation and knowledge to downstream Project Management & Installation teams for successful implementation and execution. Education/Experience: • Bachelor's Degree education and/or 3-5 years related experience. • Knowledge of network design, security systems, software controls systems, and server management. • Experience developing System Topology diagrams with Visio to visually present a customer s technical environment. • Experience planning, managing, and troubleshooting deployment of software and IT infrastructure are desirable particularly in a healthcare environment. • Experience with implementing cloud solutions and virtualized server platforms is desirable. • Experience in oncology service lines is most desirable, particularly Varian products. • PMP certification & experience in telecommunications desired. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service acumen. • Ability to host and manage conference calls remotely professionally and effectively. • Proficient in utilizing business tools: Outlook, Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint & PowerPoint.
