Senior Medical Scientist - SCLC - Thoracic Oncology
What you will do
Let s do this. Let s change the world. In this vital role you will serve as a key medical reviewer and scientific expert, ensuring the accuracy, balance, and compliance of US medical and promotional materials while contributing to broader US Medical strategy and execution.
Responsibilities:
•
Support the US medical strategy for the thoracic portfolio and pipeline via the US Medical Plan, including launch preparation support and product improvements strategies, in collaboration with the Brand Team, Product Team, Medical Team, and the Development Team
•
Support and partner with the Development team to accelerate innovative pipeline by providing strategic input on the US treatment landscape, registrational and product improvement strategies
•
Support the development of a comprehensive US medical plan for SCLC pipeline products, including external stakeholder management, scientific communications, evidence generation, and medical education strategy
•
Contribute to global product strategy through a deep understanding of the US medical environment, sharing insights, and engagement of external experts
•
Facilitate and continue to build Amgen s role as a science-based and patient-focused reliable partner
•
Partner with Global Development Leads and Medical Leads to support evidence-generation activities and ensure the Evidence Generation Plan captures critical US needs
•
Support the continued build-up of Amgen s reputation as a reliable science-based and patient focused partner
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience
OR
Master s degree and 4 years of Medical Affairs experience
OR
Bachelor s degree and 6 years of Medical Affairs experience
OR
Associate s degree and 10 years of Medical Affairs experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Medical Affairs experience
Preferred Qualifications
•
MD plus accredited fellowship in Hematology-Oncology, board certified or board eligible.
•
2+ years of Medical Affairs experience and/or clinical research experience and/or basic science research in Hematology-Oncology
•
2+ years of clinical research experience and/or basic science combined with clinical teaching and patient care activities ideally in the thoracic tumor field
•
Experience with stakeholder engagement and interactions (e.g. opinion leaders, advocacy groups, payers)
•
In-depth understanding of scientific method and clinical application based on medical, scientific and practical rationale
•
Familiarity with concepts of clinical research, clinical trial design, real world evidence, and biostatistics
•
Sound scientific/medical judgement
•
Familiarity with regulation and guidelines that govern pharma industry practices

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
