Job Description: The Director of Truckload position is a director-level position that is responsible for building, growing, and managing the Truckload department. Global Source Logistics (GSL) is looking to recruit and add quality people to spur significant department growth. We are looking for an experienced candidate that has a proven track record of success in growing and managing a profitable team. Rolling up your sleeves and leading by example is an essential aspect of GSL s culture. Recruiting new customers and managing profitability, developing an effective Logistics team, along with being part of the Management Team for the company and elevating the sales function of the other GSL Teams are keys to your success with the company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee customer RFP bids, analysis and presentations, and manage and implement client specific programs. • Give guidance and help establish both transactional and contractual rates with customers, carriers, internal teams, and management. • Coach, train, and mentor Logistics Account Managers and Team Leads; and provide career development opportunities through training and quality management activities. • Work with current personnel to form a cohesive team in respect to marketing and operational framework. • Work with the CEO to recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a training program. • Establish rapport and build relationships with potential clients and carriers and retain and grow new accounts. • Communicate effectively and proactively with customers, carriers, internal teams, and management. • Master the use of all available technology and ensure all in the department are using it to its maximum potential. • Establish and maintain a secure carrier vetting program to avoid fraudulent carriers at all costs. • Collaborate and establish credibility across the organization to engage and influence others to ensure the most effective and efficient solutions for the Company. • Ensure all loads are moved timely, and at the best possible profit margin. • Grow business and shipping modes with each account. • Develop, implement and drive a continuous improvement strategy within the brokerage division to result in ongoing incremental gains in quality and efficiency. • Regularly create and present reports to the team members and other members of management outlining results vs plan and other analytics focusing on increasing loads/day and margin dollars. • Coordinate with the Accounting Department as needed to ensure carrier and customer invoices are accurately completed in a timely manner. JOB SKILLS: • Solid organization and time-management skills. • Demonstrated success in problem solving through use of data and information metrics and improvement to performance process required. • Skilled in financial management, including P&L, balance sheets, forecasting, and budgeting to maximize ROI. • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including problem solving and decision making. • Ability to manage complex or emotional customer situations promptly and professionally, meeting commitments for service and assistance required. • Demonstrates the ability to work at a high level to treat customers, carriers, and team members with respect and fairness. • Must be able to analyze situations, identify opportunities, and successfully implement solutions through negotiations, and train team members to do the same. • Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and CBP regulatory policies, and Transportation Industry best practices. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and reports, as well as the ability to write reports and professional business correspondence. • Disciplined organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a strong attention to details. • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and Microsoft Office products experience. • Ability to learn new software and computer systems. QUALIFICATIONS: • Candidate must have 7+ years Truckload management experience.
